Your username is the library member number found on the back of your library card.
If you joined RRL prior to July 2022 and you have not manually updated your password, it is likely your date of birth expressed as DDMMYYYY – for example 05091965 (5 September 1965). Please note: there are no spaces and R is the only letter on your library card. Please contact your local library if after entering your password you are unable to gain access or go to our online catalogue to reset it.
You can use the library catalogue to find information for resources located in all the branch libraries of the Riverina Regional Library. If you would like to browse online resources click here.
Regular members can borrow 30 items in total for 28 days – 2 x 14 day renewals are available if items are not on reserve for another member.
You will receive a date due slip with your borrowed physical items. Keep this slip as a record of items borrowed and when they are due. You can also access your own records through the online catalogue. If you have registered an email address on joining, you will receive a courtesy email notifying you that your loans are soon due.
You can renew your library items online via your account (as long as they are not on reserve for another member) – members can also contact their local library for assistance.
If an item is not part of your local library collection, but is available at another branch of RRL, it can be obtained for you. Ask staff for help or make your reservation online via the catalogue. Your member card is required when reserving an item. The same card must be presented when collecting the item. We will let you know when the item arrives either by SMS or email.
You are also welcome to visit any branch library that belongs to Riverina Regional Library to borrow or return items.
If an item you want is already on loan, it may be reserved for you by a staff member at the library or you may also reserve an item online via the catalogue. Your library card is required when reserving an item. The same card must be presented when collecting the item.
Resources not held by any Riverina Regional Library branch library and are difficult to source by other means, can often be obtained from another library in Australia. For information on this inter library loan service, please ask at your local library – fees apply.
Let us know whenever you change any of your information. To update your details yourself, you can log in to your account using your library card number and password/PIN (this may be set to your date of birth expressed as DDMMYYYY). Alternatively you can contact your local library to ask for assistance.
As a courtesy, we will mail, SMS or email you to remind you that your loans are about to become overdue. Members can renew their items online through your account or telephone any one of RRL’s branch libraries to renew items over the phone.
Please note that items can be renewed 2 times as long as they are not on reserve for another member.
It is vital that if your card is lost or stolen it is reported to your library immediately. We can then prevent others from using it. There is a replacement charge of $2.00 for a new card. Please see the fees and charges schedule.
Storytime events vary across the branch libraries, but they are all free to attend. Find a Storytime near you by visiting the events page of our website or contact your local library for more information.
Some libraries have after hour chutes. Make sure you push the items in far enough for them to drop at the other end.
Library items can be returned to any of the Riverina Regional Libraries.
Some of RRL branch libraries are fortunate enough to have a Friends of the Library (FOTL) group. FOTL is a group which forms a link between the library and the community. Members meet to undertake activities which focus on their interest in libraries, books and reading. Support is provided for projects that improve services offered by the library. Please contact your local library for more information.
Riverina Regional Library welcomes gifts of new and in good-condition books, DVDs and similar materials held by the Library. The Library cannot accept magazines, encyclopaedias, sheet music, audio cassettes, video cassettes or LP records.
The Library reserves the right to decline the offer of any material that is in poor condition or is otherwise unsuitable for the library collection. Please contact your local library if you are considering donating items that are rare or unique to our community.
Materials may be donated during opening hours at any of the library’s branches. No appointment is needed.
Once donated, items become the property of the Riverina Regional Library and are reviewed by staff for possible inclusion in the collection. Material that is unsuitable may be sold (with proceeds going to branch libraries for purchase of collections and resources), given away, recycled or discarded. Donated items will not be returned to the donor, and the library will only accept items that are outright gifts. The Library reserves the right to decide when a gift added to the collection must be withdrawn.
