A Climate of Truth by Mike Berners-Lee

I have just finished listening to A Climate of Truth, by Mike Berners-Lee on the indyreads app. At first, I decided not to review this book because most of us use the RRL Reads book reviews to find a book we might enjoy rather than getting a harsh reality check; however, everyone needs to read this important book, so I changed my mind!

Anyone asking, ‘What can each of us do right now to help our planet be healthy and safe?’ will find some inspiration in this book.

Berners-Lee cautions us when he says, ‘If humanity is to thrive in the decades ahead, the most critical step is to raise standards of honesty in our politics, our media and our businesses.’ He argues that the challenge facing us requires us to face the habit that brought us to this point and then to break this habit.

Another great book, again an audio book, this time through BorrowBox, is The New Climate War by Michael Mann. This one gives more background on how we’ve got to the point we’re at.

A Climate of Truth is a powerful call to realistic hope. Social tipping points can happen fast, and this book outlines how each of us, collectively, can be a meaningful part of the change.
