One Book One Wagga Gala Dinner

Rules Club Wagga Wagga |

Friday 24 May – 6.45pm

One Book One Wagga 2019 concludes in style with a three-course gala dinner featuring Scrublands author Chris Hammer.

Australian author Chris Hammer was a journalist for more than 30 years, dividing his time between covering Australian federal politics and international affairs. His career included many years as a roving correspondent for Dateline and senior political journalist for The Age.

His first book The River (non-fiction) was the recipient of the ACT Book of the Year Award in 2010. His journey through the Murray-Darling Basin and time spent in the Riverina while researching The River inspired the setting for Scrublands.

Join Chris for a conversation about his career in journalism, transition to novelist, and Scrublands, his first work of fiction, proudly organised by the Wagga Wagga City Library.

Cost: $60.00. Groups of 10 or more – $55 each

Bookings are essential: Tickets available through the Wagga Civic Theatre.
